EINSTEINIUM FOUNDATION — MONTHLY UPDATE FOR MARCH 2023

To the Einsteinium Community,

We hope this monthly update finds you well. As we approach the end of Q1 2023, we are pleased to provide an update on the progress and developments of The Einsteinium Foundation.

Firstly, we are thrilled to announce that our previous research and charitable missions have continued to make a positive impact throughout the world. Our ongoing commitment to funding groundbreaking research projects in various fields, including but not limited to medical research, environmental sustainability, and education, has contributed to significant advancements in these areas. Additionally, our charitable missions have helped to provide aid to those in need, especially during the early part of the COVID19 pandemic, and for disaster relief efforts to initiatives aimed at tackling poverty and social inequality.

In terms of our digital currency, Einsteinium, we are proud to report that it has maintained its strong position in the cryptocurrency market. The Einsteinium blockchain has proven to be secure and reliable, and we have continued to develop new and innovative features to improve its functionality and usability. Our team has been working tirelessly to enhance the user experience and expand the use cases for Einsteinium, and we are excited to share more updates on this in the coming months. This is especially true of our Weeee Cash app [LINK], we are working on resolving a technical problem and should have a solution soon.

As an NPO, we remain dedicated to ensuring that our operations are transparent and accountable. We have recently completed our annual financial audit, and we are pleased to report that we have maintained a strong financial position. Our commitment to using cryptocurrency to fund our initiatives has enabled us to operate with greater efficiency and transparency, and we will continue to explore new ways to leverage blockchain technology to achieve our mission. While the current cryptocurrency winter has impacted our operations, we view this as a temporary setback in our long term operations, and we are positioned to benefit greatly when market sentiment changes.

Looking ahead, we have several exciting projects and initiatives in the works, including a new research project which leverages mature and emerging technologies and the development of new partnerships with organizations that share our core values and mission. We are also actively exploring ways to expand the adoption of Einsteinium and increase its use cases, both within and beyond the cryptocurrency community.

The crypto winter is directly adding delays to some of our current strategic initiatives, however we remain focused on navigating active collaborations and the final steps for MIL. Our focus remains on the delivery of MIL, an evolved blockchain forked from EMC2, we continue to finalize agreements and the next best steps as the summer months have led to a natural delay in operations. We believe that the innovative Einsteinium/MIL mining tax algorithm is the most sustainable method in the science+blockchain space. We are doubling down on our efforts to bring new technology to the masses in the form of MIL and to achieve our mission of creating a long-term solution for scientific funding using cryptocurrency.

We invite members of our community to complete a short survey https://bit.ly/3Sv9Zwf for us to receive feedback on our progress to date, and to help guide our strategic initiatives going forward.

In closing, we would like to express my gratitude to the Einsteinium community for your ongoing support and commitment to our mission. We believe that by working together, we can make a meaningful impact on the world and help to create a better future for all.

Sincerely,
Leadership of The Einsteinium Foundation

Happy birthday Einstein!

To the Einsteinium community,

Today, March 14th, marks the birthday of one of the most brilliant minds in human history: Albert Einstein. Born in 1879 in Ulm, Germany, Einstein revolutionized our understanding of the universe with his groundbreaking theories of relativity and his pioneering work in quantum mechanics.

Einstein's ideas have had a profound impact on nearly every aspect of modern science, from our understanding of the fundamental nature of space and time to the development of nuclear energy and modern electronics. But his influence extends far beyond the world of science, as his insights have also shaped our understanding of art, philosophy, and the human experience.

Despite his incredible achievements, Einstein remained a humble and compassionate person throughout his life. He was a vocal advocate for peace and social justice, using his platform as one of the world's most famous scientists to advocate for causes he believed in. He also had a great sense of humor and was known for his love of music, sailing, and spending time with his family.

As we reflect on Einstein's legacy on his birthday, we are reminded of the incredible potential of the human mind and the power of curiosity, creativity, and perseverance in unlocking the secrets of the universe. Let us honor Einstein's memory by continuing to push the boundaries of knowledge and using our talents to make the world a better place for all.

Happy birthday, Einstein!

Signed,

Leadership of the Einsteinium Foundation

EINSTEINIUM FOUNDATION — MONTHLY UPDATE FOR FEBRUARY 2023

To the Einsteinium community,

Greetings, everyone. As leadership of the Einsteinium Foundation, we are excited to provide this monthly update on our progress and initiatives.

This past month, we've continued our efforts to drive the adoption of Einsteinium (EMC2) as a leading cryptocurrency for supporting scientific research and discovery. Our team has been working closely with several research organizations to secure partnerships and funding for new scientific projects in various fields such as AI, and biotechnology.

We also recently launched a new program to support emerging researchers and scientists by providing them with the necessary resources and funding to bring their ideas to life. This program has received an overwhelmingly positive response and we're looking forward to supporting the next generation of scientific leaders. We expect further updates from this initiative throughout the years.

We are exploring ideas where our developers can make great progress on the development of a decentralized science (DeSci) platform, which will allow researchers to securely store, share, and collaborate on their findings in a decentralized and transparent manner.

Overall, it's been a busy and productive month, and I'm proud of what we've accomplished. We continue to navigate in the crypto winter cycle, and expect significant progress in the near future as this cycle resolves. We are looking forward to sharing more updates in the coming months and continuing to drive the growth of the Einsteinium Foundation and the wider scientific community.

Our core mission: government funding of science is in crisis.

We would like to take a moment to reinvigorate why The Einsteinium Foundation does what it does. Much of our effort is designed to combat problems and growing inequities in what the traditional scientific funding institutions offer. The prevailing trends continue to be a deemphasis in the funding of fundamental scientific discovery as compared to translational research and in this way, science has become industrial. We also observe that the training of scientists suffers from a breakdown of the apprenticeship model into a form of the commodification of scientific training.

While our comments largely target gaps in the American funding system, we believe these issues in the training, development, and retention of scientific talent to be a global problem. We must ask ourselves, why do people leave science? As it stands, it is the alternative career in the funnel of scientific talent. While not everyone desires to be a university professor, and success should not solely be measured by the establishment of academic labs, we believe they are the future drivers of innovation and provide fertile soil and safety for the growth of new ideas which challenge old paradigms, and a renewable resource for basic science to move to targeted application at the bedside. We believe that part of the problem for so many uniquely qualified and highly skilled individuals leaving fundamental science is the intrinsic instability of their lives. Which is difficult to navigate with often distant geographic dislocation, and salaries that have failed to keep pace with inflation and cost of living. We discuss potential solutions in future announcements.

Einsteinium College internship program

The Einsteinium Foundation is looking to instate an internship program which would be a mentored program designed to provide current college students with hands-on experience and familiarize them with career opportunities in blockchain technology and philanthropic science. Students will be accepted into the internship program. Interns are matched with Einsteinium members according to their stated area of interest and work on an ongoing project in one of our programs. College students interested in this program should reach out to the Einsteinium Foundation at contact@emc2.foundation.

Open call for an Einsteinium (EMC2) NFT project

We are looking for open collaboration on an NFT collection with members of the Einsteinium community. This collection should be designed to commemorate the Einsteinium team and projects that have been built and supported through Einsteinium’s technology. We are soliciting unique and visionary project ideas, interested parties should reach out to the Einsteinium Foundation at contact@emc2.foundation.

Einsteinium Fellowships

In 2018, the Einsteinium Foundation, a non-profit organization (NPO) and the world's first NPO to be backed by cryptocurrency, established our annual award program. We did this in order to offer grant money to directly support scientific research. We continue to balance our operations as a cryptocurrency and philanthropic organization. Therefore, on the anniversary of Einstein’s birthday, we announced that the Einsteinium Foundation will support the Einsteinium Fellowships, with details of this initiative described in our recent blog post. This marks a very special occasion for the Einsteinium Foundation as our organization's founding was inspired by Albert Einstein. For this program, there are no restrictions on the type of projects that are eligible but they must be scientific in nature and well-thought out. Additionally, eligible projects must follow a general ethos to push human knowledge forward, and strive to build us a better, safer and more stable future. In this regard, the fellowships support researchers across career stages including graduate, postgraduate, or professorships by offering funds to be utilized for the advancement of a scientific project. This year, we will be offering the Einsteinium Fellowships in the form of 10 fellowships to be awarded on a rolling basis throughout the year. Each fellow will be awarded 10,000 EMC2 in unrestricted funds. We encourage you to spread awareness of this initiative and if interested, to direct your application here. https://www.emc2.foundation/einsteinium-fellowship

Expanding our listings on exchanges

We continue to look for new ways to increase the awareness for The Einsteinium Foundation and functionality of Einsteinium, our current product. Einsteinium, the coin, is available to trade on several top exchanges. We are excited by and fully support the recent community-driven activity to reach out to exchanges on our behalf. As a strong driving signal on the Foundation side and in order to reach a wider audience in the cryptocurrency community we are planning for additional exchange listings in the new year.

We are looking to add to the team

The Einsteinium Foundation is looking to add to our team. In specific, we are currently looking for a Blockchain Developer to work on our new cryptocurrency core that utilizes the Ethash mining algorithm. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on development experience with Bitcoin or any other Bitcoin-like cryptocurrency core project. This current position is not recruiting for smart contracts developers. Additional details regarding the position are available here. This current position is not recruiting for smart contracts developers.

We also encourage anyone interested in any other role within the Foundation to reach out to us. As we anticipate expanding on our team, the Einsteinium Foundation is looking for a number of roles to contribute towards the success and adoption of Einsteinium. For more information about this, reach out to us via the contact form on our main page to express your interest. https://www.emc2.foundation/contact

Thank you for your continued support.

EINSTEINIUM FOUNDATION 2022 ANNUAL LETTER

To the Einsteinium Global Community,

Happy holidays to all of you and your loved ones.

As leadership of the Einsteinium Foundation, we are proud of the trust you continue to give to us to carry out our mission, and we are pleased to update you on the progress we are making towards the Einsteinium Foundation’s strategic plan.

Altogether, our work is the product of broad engagement across the Einsteinium Foundation and our community and many, many hours of dedicated hard work. Some of which we highlighted in our 2021 and 2020 annual letters.

Our strategic priorities are in place and we are putting the finishing touches on the initiatives that will help us on the release of Milevium (MIL).

Some of our initiatives are already underway, like the Annual EMC2 award or the Einsteinium Fellowships (highlighted below). Other projects will take a longer period, like reviewing and improving our funding mechanisms to meet future expectations for our organization, and recruiting team members and world-class scientists to be a part of our scientific review and advocacy programs.

Taken together, these initiatives will result in meaningful advances in our operations at the Einsteinium Foundation.
We are very excited about our collective work and know that it will better prepare the Einsteinium Foundation to meet the challenges facing us in the future.

While these challenges may feel daunting, they also present a unique opportunity to shape an ambitious future. We are proud of the advances we have made thus far and look forward to continuing to work together as a community to implement our plan and position EMC2 and MIL as a leader in the scientific blockchain space. We also continue to look at opportunities in the decentralized science, or DeSci, space.

We always love to hear from you, and in an effort to make communication easier we invite members of our community to complete a short survey https://bit.ly/3Sv9Zwf for us to receive feedback on our progress to date, and to help guide our strategic initiatives going forward.

The world today

Broadly, the global economy has experienced significant challenges and fluctuations in recent years, including an economic recession, increasingly high levels of debt, and rising inequality. Many economies around the world have struggled with slow growth, high unemployment, and other economic challenges.

At the same time, there have also been successes and periods of growth in some areas (especially technology and biotechnology), and the global economy has demonstrated resilience and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.

As of 2021, the US economy was experiencing a period of economic expansion and growth, with low unemployment and rising wages.

However, there were also challenges and areas of concern, including rising levels of debt and inequality, and ongoing trade tensions with other countries.

The economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has also had significant effects on the US economy, with many businesses and industries facing disruptions and financial challenges.

These challenges have translated themselves into economic hardship, with the current cryptocurrency winter as a result. Which is also directly adding delays to some of our current strategic initiatives, however we remain focused on navigating active collaborations and the final steps for MIL. The Einsteinium Foundation has a long history in the cryptocurrency space, the group is battle hardened and we have learned to survive in difficult times.

Our focus remains on the delivery of MIL, an evolved blockchain, and we continue to finalize agreements and the next best steps as we have experienced some delay in operations.

Science and society

The scientific process is a way of understanding the world around us and seeks to explain natural phenomena through observation, experimentation, and analysis.

It is a process that is constantly evolving and builds upon our collective knowledge and current understanding of the world.

We look at Society, on the other hand, as the sum of the social relationships and cultural practices of a group of people.

The complex relationship between science and society are interconnected in many ways, as the pursuit of scientific knowledge often reflects and is shaped by the values and priorities of the society in which it takes place. Over human history, these two have been at odds with each other.

At the same time, scientific discoveries and technological innovations can have significant impacts on society, shaping the way we live and interact with the world around us. By making life easier through technological conveniences, or medicines to extend life and cure disease, or human communication as powered by the internet.

The relationship between science and society includes the way that scientific research is often funded by governments or private organizations (this is the area Einsteinium plans to make significant contributions) with specific goals or agendas, the way that scientific discoveries can influence public policy and decision-making, and the way that societal values and beliefs can influence the direction of scientific research.

Science and blockchain

Blockchain technology is a distributed digital ledger that allows multiple parties to record, verify, and share transactions and other types of data in a secure and transparent way.

It is a decentralized system that relies on a network of computers to validate and store data, rather than relying on trust in a central authority.

It is possible that blockchain will play an increasing role in applications in scientific research and data management, we continue to look at this space. Where blockchain technology could potentially be used to securely and transparently store and share scientific data, including research results and data from experiments.

Blockchain technology could be used to create secure, decentralized databases of scientific data that are accessible to researchers around the world. Which is an important component to increasing scientific advancement and equity.

It could also be used to track the provenance of scientific samples, such as biological specimens, and to verify the authenticity and integrity of scientific data. We look forward to seeing active innovations in these areas.

It is likely that cryptocurrency will play a significant role in funding scientific research and other scientific endeavors (the area we operate in). The future is increasingly pointing towards the use of cryptocurrency to fund scientific projects and initiatives with high impact.

Many organizations, including the Einsteinium Foundation, have already begun using cryptocurrency to fund scientific research and other projects, and it is likely that this trend will continue in the future.

Our history

The Einsteinium Foundation is a non-profit organization that is focused on supporting and promoting scientific, technological, and educational projects. The foundation is based in Canada and is run by our board of directors and a team of volunteers.

The original organization was founded in 2014 by a group of individuals who were interested in using cryptocurrency technology to fund scientific, technological, and educational projects.

The foundation is named after the famous German physicist Albert Einstein and is associated with the cryptocurrency Einsteinium (EMC2), which was created as a way to fund the foundation's activities.

The Einsteinium Foundation initially focused on funding a range of scientific and technological research projects, including studies on cancer and other diseases, renewable energy, and educational initiatives.

Over time, we expanded our focus to include a wider range of projects and initiatives that are aimed at solving some of the world's most pressing problems and directly contributing to efforts to combat the ongoing SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.

In addition to funding projects, the Einsteinium Foundation also hosts the Einsteinium Awards, which are intended to recognize and reward individuals and organizations that are making significant contributions to science, technology, and education.

Our core mission: government funding of science is in crisis

We would like to take a moment to reinvigorate and state why The Einsteinium Foundation does what it does.

Much of our effort is designed to combat problems and growing inequities in what the traditional scientific funding institutions offer.

The prevailing trends continue to be a deemphasis (and devaluing) in the funding of fundamental scientific discovery as compared to translational research and in this way, science has become industrial.

While our comments largely target gaps in the American funding system, we believe these issues in the training, development, and retention of scientific talent to be a global problem. We also hope for an increase in global equity, and access to scientific opportunities (especially in the global south).

We must ask ourselves, why do people leave science?

We also see that the training of scientists suffers from a breakdown of the apprenticeship model into a form of the commodification of scientific training, and a devaluing of junior and early-career researchers.

The DeFi space, and decentralized initiatives.

Decentralized finance (DeFi) is a financial system that is built on blockchain technology and operates in a decentralized manner, without the need for central intermediaries such as banks.

DeFi platforms allow users to access a variety of financial services, such as lending, borrowing, and trading, using digital assets and smart contracts.

DeFi platforms and technologies could potentially have some indirect applications in the field of science.

We see a future where DeFi platforms could be used to facilitate the secure and transparent financing of scientific projects and research initiatives.

Underlying technologies used in DeFi, such as blockchain and smart contracts, could have applications in scientific research and data management and operate on a milestone based incentive system.

Blockchain technology could be used to securely and transparently store and share scientific data, and smart contracts could potentially be used to automate the execution of scientific experiments or other research tasks. We continue to look for opportunities and progress in this space.

The NFT space

Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are digital assets that are used to represent a variety of different types of digital content, including art, collectibles, and more.

We see a possibility that the NFT space could intersect with science in some ways.

Scientific research and data could potentially be represented as NFTs and traded in the NFT market.

Additionally, the use of blockchain technology, which is central to the creation and trade of NFTs, has the potential to have applications in scientific research and data management, and commemoration of projects and scientific publications.

We are exploring proposals regarding the intersection of these areas and they are currently being reviewed by our team. However, we continue to look for ideas in this creative and dynamic space.

We seek open collaboration on an NFT collection with members of the Einsteinium community.

As an example project, a collection could be designed to commemorate the Einsteinium team and projects that have been built and supported through Einsteinium’s technology.

We are soliciting unique and visionary project ideas. Interested parties should reach out to the Einsteinium Foundation at contact@emc2.foundation.

New exchanges

We continue to look for new ways to increase the awareness for The Einsteinium Foundation and functionality of Einsteinium, our current product.

Adding new exchanges is a central part of our plan for MIL, as it will drive liquidity and adoption.

Einsteinium, the coin, is available to trade on several top cryptocurrency exchanges. In addition, we are excited by and fully support the recent community-driven activity to reach out to exchanges on our behalf.

As a strong driving signal on the Foundation side and in order to reach a wider audience in the cryptocurrency community we are planning for additional exchange listings.

We anticipate significant updates on this front in the new year.

Growing our team

The Einsteinium Foundation is always looking to add to our team.

We encourage anyone interested in any role within the Foundation to reach out to us.

As we anticipate expanding on our team, the Einsteinium Foundation is looking for a number of roles to contribute towards the success and adoption of Einsteinium. For more information about this, reach out to us via the contact form on our main page to express your interest.

We are currently looking for a Blockchain Developer to work on our new cryptocurrency core that utilizes the Ethash mining algorithm.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on development experience with Bitcoin or any other Bitcoin-like cryptocurrency core project. This current position is not recruiting for smart contracts developers.

Einsteinium College internship program

The Einsteinium Foundation is looking to instate an internship program which would be a mentored program designed to provide current college students with hands-on experience and familiarize them with career opportunities in blockchain technology and philanthropic science.

College/University students will be accepted into the internship program. Interns are matched with Einsteinium members according to their stated area of interest and work on an ongoing project in one of our programs.

College students interested in this program should reach out to the Einsteinium Foundation at contact@emc2.foundation.

We plan to host our inaugural cohort of students in summer 2023.

A vision for Einsteinium and Milevium’s future

This year we achieved a major step in the release of MIL.

Security on the blockchain is of fundamental importance. Therefore, the actions taken by the Einsteinium and Komodo teams, to implement Komodo’s delayed Proof of Work (dPoW), solidifies the strength of the MIL network and directly drives our ability to promote widespread adoption and usage.

This progress cannot be understated as it allows us to release a safe and effective product, currently EMC2, and in the near future MIL.

Importantly, The Einsteinium Foundation has been working with the Komodo team for years as a core technology and we want to continue our strong relationship

We believe that the innovative Einsteinium and Milevium mining tax algorithm is the most sustainable business model in the science and blockchain space.  We have also begun to explore additional technical development in our MIL project to keep it competitive in the fast-moving cryptocurrency space.

We are doubling down on our efforts to bring new technology to the masses in the form of MIL and to achieve our mission of creating a long-term solution for scientific funding using cryptocurrency.

A future with cryptocurrency

It is difficult to predict with certainty what the future holds for cryptocurrency but it has proven its resiliency time and time again.

Cryptocurrencies have gained significant attention and adoption in recent years (along with significant regulation), but they are still a relatively new and rapidly evolving technology. We believe in a bright future for this space.

One potential trend that could shape the future of cryptocurrency is the increasing use of blockchain technology in a variety of industries and applications.

Blockchain has the potential to revolutionize the way that information is stored, transmitted, and secured, and it could have a significant impact on a range of sectors, including finance, supply chain management, and healthcare (where we operate).

Another trend that could impact the future of cryptocurrency is the increasing regulation of the industry.

Many governments and regulatory bodies around the world are beginning to take a closer look at cryptocurrency and are considering ways to regulate it. This could potentially lead to more clarity and stability in the market, which could attract more mainstream adoption.

It is clear to us that cryptocurrency will continue to be a topic of interest and debate in the years ahead.

The Einsteinium Foundation, from our families to yours, hopes that you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy in these difficult times.

Sincerely,
Leadership of The Einsteinium Foundation

EINSTEINIUM FOUNDATION — MONTHLY UPDATE FOR NOVEMBER 2022

To the Einsteinium community,

Below is a brief overview of our actions over the past month of November 2022.

We continue to see a great interest in the EMC2 project and have kept an eye on the emerging #DeSci and DAO movement for opportunities to position ourselves in the future.

We have also begun to explore additional technical development in our MIL project to keep it competitive in the crypto space. This will require onboard new members of the team that have experience as software developers and will grow our technical core competency. Those interested should reach out to the Einsteinium Foundation’s team for more information.

We invite members of our community to complete a short survey https://bit.ly/3Sv9Zwf for us to receive feedback on our progress to date, and to help guide our strategic initiatives going forward.

The rest of this monthly memo describes a number of ongoing initiates at The Einsteinium Foundation, each of which contributes to the strength of our operating ability and drives our core mission.

As a strong driving signal on the Foundation side and in order to reach a wider audience in the cryptocurrency community we are planning for additional exchange listings in the new year.

EINSTEINIUM FOUNDATION — MONTHLY UPDATE FOR OCTOBER 2022

To the Einsteinium community,

Below is a brief overview of our actions over the past month of October 2022.

Our team is currently navigating active collaborations and the final steps for MIL. Our focus remains on the delivery of MIL, an evolved blockchain forked from EMC2, we continue to finalize agreements and the next best steps as the summer months have led to a natural delay in operations.  We expect significant updates heading into the New Year.

We continue to see a great interest in the EMC2 project and have kept an eye on the emerging #DeSci and DAO movement for opportunities to position ourselves in the future.

We have also begun to explore additional technical development in our MIL project to keep it competitive in the crypto space. This will require onboard new members of the team that have experience as software developers and will grow our technical core competency. Those interested should reach out to the Einsteinium Foundation’s team for more information.
